Synopsis :
According to Ponyboy, there are 2 types of persons in the world: greasers and socs. A soc (brief for "social") has funds, will escape with really about anything, and has an attitude longer than a limousine. A greaser, found on the different hand, constantly lives found on the outside and must observe his back. Ponyboy is a greaser, and he's usually been proud of it, even prepared to rumble against a gang of socs for the sake of his fellow greasers--until 1 terrible evening when his friend Johnny eliminates a soc. The murder gets under Ponyboy's skin, causing his planet to crumble and training him that pain feels the same whether a soc or perhaps a greaser.

About S. E. Hinton

S.E. Hinton, was and nevertheless is, the most common and ideal recognized writers of young adult fiction. Her books have been taught in some universities, and banned from others. Her novels changed the means persons consider young adult literature.

Susan Eloise Hinton was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has constantly enjoyed reading but wasn't pleased with all the literature which was being created for young adults, which influenced her to write novels like The Outsiders. That book, her initial novel, was published in 1967 by Viking.

When published, The Outsiders gave her a great deal of publicity and fame, and a great deal of stress. S.E. Hinton was becoming well-known as "The Voice of the Youth" among alternative titles. This stress and publicity resulted in a 3 year lengthy writer's block.

Her boyfriend (and today, her husband),who had gotten sick of her being depressed all time, eventually broke this block. He created her write 2 pages a day if she sought to go anywhere. This eventually led to That Was Next, This Is Now.

That Was Next, This Is Now is acknowledged to be a more effectively thought out book than The Outsiders. Because she read a great deal of amazing literature and desired to greater herself, she prepared certain that she wrote each sentence precisely right. She continued to write her 2 pages a day until she finally felt it was completed in the summer of 1970, she got married a limited months later. That Was Next, This really is Now was published in 1971.

In 1975, S.E. Hinton published Rumble Fish as a novel (she had published a brief story adaptation in a 1968 edition of Nimrod, which was a literary supplement for the University of Tulsa Alumni Magazine).

Rumble Fish was the shortest novel she had published. It received a awesome deal of contrasting opinions, with 1 reviewer claiming it to be her ideal book and the upcoming claiming it to be her last.

The latter was apparently incorrect. Tex was published in 1979, 4 years after Rumble Fish. It received good reports and persons raved about how the writing design had matured since past magazines. Tex will be the last book S.E. Hinton published for 9 years. After another span of 4 years, S.E. Hinton's son, Nick was born.

Four years after Tex was introduced, many main occasions took spot in S.E. Hinton's lifetime. In March of 1983, the film The Outsiders was introduced. The following August, Nicholas David was born. Two months later the film Rumble Fish was introduced.

In 1985 the film variation of That Was Next, This Is Now was introduced. Three years later S.E. Hinton became the initially individual to get the YASD/SLJ Author Achievement Award, which was provided by the Young Adult Services Division of the American Library Association and School Library Journal.

Taming The Star Runner was introduced in October of that year. It was the initial book that S.E. Hinton had published that wasn't in initial individual. With a seven-year wait, S.E. Hinton introduced another book in 1995. This time she did anything that nobody expected.

Big David, Little David was created for youngsters around the kindergarten age. This deviation from Teen fiction appears to be a reflection of the present significant points in S.E. Hinton's life: Family. The children's fiction trend continues with her newest release- The Puppy Sister, that is a fantasy book created for Elementary school level youngsters.

S.E. Hinton currently lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma with her spouse David. Her son Nick is away for university.
